Dear Debby,
I am about to graduate from Secondary School and one of the arguments I usually get into with my parents is the importance of going into University. I tell them that I already have the skills that will help me to lead a good life. They disagree and say that I need more education.
You see, I want to work and pursue what I want which is to act on stage. I know I can start now by doing the rounds and joining auditions so that I can get into the really big shows. I do not want to go to University anymore—what for? I do not need a degree to learn how to act, because I already do it and I want to do it for a living this time.
However, my parents are always getting into my nerves and telling me what a waste I will be if I do not pursue University studies. They are willing to support me all the way but on conditions that I pursue a University Degree. What do you think Debby?
